Indian Wells (US), October 17

Cameron Norrie produced a dominant performance to beat Grigor Dimitrov 6-2 6-4 on Saturday to advance to the final at Indian Wells, where he will face Nikoloz Basilashvili after the Georgian edged Taylor Fritz 7-6(5) 6-3.

Sunday’s match will be Norrie’s sixth showpiece match of the year and first at a Masters 1000 event as the Briton’s breakout season continues. With the win, Norrie will break into the top 20 for the first time when rankings are updated on Monday.

The other semifinal of the day was a slugfest that pitted Basilashvili’s booming forehand against Fritz’s potent serve. Fritz had the support of the crowd but came up short in the match’s biggest moments. — Reuters
