Students highlight importance of cleanliness, water conservation

Message of Swachh Bharat and Jal Shakti were given to people by Meritorious School students on Wednesday.

The programme was organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Field Outreach Bureau.

Ministry’s official Gurmeet Singh said in the present time people were aware of their constitutional rights. However, there is a need for them to be sensitive towards their constitutional duties.

He said cleanliness of environment and water was not only given by the constitution but also by Sikh gurus centuries ago. This, in short, is one of the messages of the Gurus.

Host school principal Daljinder Kaur exhorted the students to adopt the message of cleaning environment and water in their routine life.

A total of 10 students were given prizes for their good performance in a quiz on the Constitution of India. Manpreet Kaur bagged the first position in painting and Kajal in essay writing contest.
