Chandigarh, February 13
In its pilot project, the state government has decided to connect 300 health and wellness centres (HWCs) with a telemedicine hub by March to strengthen the delivery of primary health services.
Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said the state government took the decision after witnessing an overwhelming response in 1,365 HWCs across the state. The telemedicine hub would be established at Sector 9, Chandigarh, under the supervision of five doctors and one tele medicine operator (TMO), whose training had already been done by CDAC, Mohali.
The TMOs would further impart the training to Community Health Officer (CHOs). — TNS
