From Our Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH, July 15—Mr. Kenneth B. Keating, U.S. Ambassador in India, presented here today, at a ceremony held at the Red Cross Building, 18 jeeps to Dr. S. Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Health, for use in Punjab’s family planning campaign. Dr. S. Chandrasekhar passed on the keys to the Punjab CM, Mr. Gurnam Singh. This is the first group of 1,340 vehicles being given this year to India by the U.S. Government for use in family planning. More such vehicles will be put into operation in the next few years. The jeeps are expected to increase the effectiveness of doctors and nurses engaged in the campaign.
