Court Orders Interim Stay of Arrest Warrant



CALCUTTA, April 22 (UNI)—Mr. Justice N.C. Talukdar of the Calcutta High Court today issued a rule upon the State of West Bengal asking it to show cause why the warrant of arrest issued by the Police Magistrate. Sealdah, on April 16 against the three Army personnel in connection with the firing in the Cossipore Gun and Shell Factory on April 8, should not be set aside. An interim stay of the operation of the impugned order, namely, the production of the three Army personnel before the Police Court by April 23, was granted. PTI adds: His Lordship also issued a rule against the District Magistrate of 24-Parganas asking him to show cause why the said order should not be set aside.
