According to the result just declared, he has got 375 marks out of a maximum of 400 and thus passed the examination with distinction. Dr. Jiwan Lal is the first Punjabi to take the examination with success, and has shown a highly commendable perseverance in attaining the highest academic qualification obtaining in this Province. He is an alumnus of the Medical College, Lahore, from where he passed his L.M.S. examination but finding later on, that unless he took the degree of M.B.B.S., he could not, under the Regulations of the University, go for the degree of Doctor of Medicine, he appeared for the M.B.B.S., examination which he passed, and has now qualified himself for the highest degree in medicine by passing the examination therefore with credit.
