Snoopy Creator Is Excited

SEBASTOPOL (California). May 24 (AP)—Mr. Charles Mr. Schulz, the soft-spoken creator that the moon explorers named their craft for his comic strip dog, but said there would never be any reference to its in his strip. “That will be improper,” Mr. Schulz said during a busy day of answering telephone calls from well-wishers and interviewers. “A comic strip should lead a life of its own. Besides, Snoopy already has made his moon journey in the strip some time ago. A quiet serious man, Mr. Schulz said Snoopy has been the official mascot of the manned space centre for a little over a year so he wasn’t surprised that the lunar module was named for the bitch and the space capsule for het lugubrious Charlie Brown. Still he conceded, “it’s very exciting—anyone would be excited to play a small role in such an adventure.”
