The Press Act Again

THE Bombay Chronicle publishes an Associated Press message from Nagpur which runs as follows:--Under the Press Act the C.P. Government gave a last warning to the local paper, the ‘Maharashtra’ for an article entitled ‘Hail Martial Law’. It is stated in the warning that the article in question purports to be criticism on the conviction and sentence of certain on the conviction and sentence of certain persons in the Punjab for conspiring to create disturbances, but its tenor is an attempt to show that the convicted persons were prosecuted, convicted and sentenced, not because they engineered the disturbances in the Punjab, but because they conducted constitutional agitation against the Rowlatt Bill.
