Taking all measures to make NEET leak-proof, says Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday said the government was taking all measures to assess the preparations for NEET on June 21, including maintaining complete confidentiality about the preparation of the question papers.

He visited the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters on Tuesday to assess the preparations for the exam.

“We have ensured that all necessary measures are being taken while maintaining complete confidentiality, from the preparation of the question papers to all subsequent procedures. This includes ensuring that examination materials reach the examination centres accurately and on time. Every department involved in this process has specific responsibilities. This time, we have taken even greater precautions. Several high-level meetings have been held under the leadership of the Cabinet Secretary with the secretaries of the departments concerned,” the minister told the mediapersons.

Pradhan said NTA was in touch with the state administration. “Our Director General is personally speaking with almost all district collectors. Through the state governments and Chief Ministers, we are also drawing attention to states where special focus may be required,” he said.

Speaking about the investigation into the NEET paper leak, he said the investigation was still ongoing. “The CBI is getting to the bottom of it and examining what irregularities occurred in recent days and where they took place. I have complete faith in the CBI, and we have also requested that the individuals found responsible this time face the strictest possible action,” Pradhan said.
