Badal (Muktsar), February 20
Leaders and workers of the saffron party on Thursday gave two hoots to traffic rules while welcoming their national president JP Nadda at Badal village here.
A large number of police personnel were present there, but none of them stopped the BJP workers from violating traffic rules. Three to four BJP workers were seen riding one motorcycle in the road show taken out in the village.
Further, they called some artistes to perform bhangra to beats of the dhol and that too just outside a government school. Further, they left disposable glasses and plates on roads.
A BJP leader (pleading anonymity) said there was no need of such pomp and show for a meeting between the leaders of the two parties. “Rather than this show off, the meeting should have been kept in a normal manner,” he said.
A number of illegal hoardings too were displayed along roadsides.
After Nadda left the venue, BJP leaders and workers left the otherwise beautiful Badal village road into a complete mess.
