Who can forget the 2016 demonetisation jolt when the government scrapped high-value currency notes overnight. As if exchanging the old currency notes for new ones wasn’t a trouble back then, a viral moment shows a woman’s reaction on finding the old notes that are worthless now.

In the viral clip, the woman can be seen visibly upset and at a loss of words after discovering bundles of scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes that she had ‘secretly’ kept aside before the ban.

In the video, she says, “Guys, meri mummy ro rahi hai. Inhone papa se chhupa rakhe the 500-1000 ke purane notes. Ab ro rahi hai ki bank waale lenge wapas ya nahin. Bhai mummy ro rahi hai.”

The woman had hidden the cash from her husband before demonetisation was announced in November 2016.
