“Bappu ji kinne khush hoye”: Punjab artist makes portrait in a moving bus

Sketching on a moving bus over one of Sangrur’s rough roads, this young artist turns an ordinary journey into a moment of pure joy

Anupinder Singh, an artist from Punjab whose reels capture raw, unscripted human emotions, decided to sketch a portrait for the bus conductor - travelling from Sunam to Budhlada.

“Today, for the first time, I made a sketch on a moving bus. And the road—well, it was one of the worst roads in Sangrur district. I had almost given up, thinking it wouldn’t be possible today,” he wrote in the reel’s caption.

“Pata hi nahi lagga inni jaldi bana diti,” ‘Bappu ji’ said, smiling — admitting he didn’t even realise when the portrait had been completed.

And somewhere between Sunam and Budhlada, on a dusty road in Punjab, art once again proved that kindness travels faster than any bus.
