Remember the young Virat Kohli fan who was left heartbroken after failing to get his idol’s autograph? Turns out, he has finally received an unexpected good news.
Months after the video of the kid breaking down in tears went viral, former IPL chairman Lalit Modi personally reached out and promised him a special gift.
Yugveer Budhiraja had become the focus of attention after a clip showed him repeatedly trying to approach Kohli for an autograph. However, each time he tried, security personnel stopped him, and eventually he walked away upset. He was also seen throwing his bat in frustration.
During an interview with Humans of Bombay founder Karishma Mehta, Modi said the video had deeply affected him. “I will send him a Season 1 bat. The bat is signed by every player, which has Virat Kohli’s signature as well," Lalit Modi said. He added, “Unfortunately I don’t have a single bat of Virat Kohli myself."
On June 3, Yugveer shared an Instagram video revealing that he had received a video call from Lalit Modi himself.
Modi also commented on the post and assured the boy that the bat would soon be delivered to his home in Delhi.
