Chandigarh, March 4

From a fortune worth £500,000, they were handed envelopes containing just £50 each in cash.

A “disappointed” 91-year-old grandfather left his grandchildren just £50 each of his £500,000 fortune as he was 'hurt' they did not visit him more often.

Former soldier Frederick Ward Snr--who lived in Willow Road, South Ealing, London--had previously made a will dividing his estate between his three children.

Fred Snr, however, left his fortune to his two children Terry Ward and Susan Wiltshire when he died in 2020, discounting his third dead son Fred Jr's children, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Snr told his legal representatives that he was upset as his late son's children did not visit him while he was hospitalised thrice with a lung condition.

When Ward's will was read out by Terry after his death, from a fortune valued at around £500,000, the grandchildren were handed envelopes containing just £50 each in cash by their Uncle Terry.
