Chandigarh, August 26

Flipkart’s newly launched quick commerce service, Flipkart Minutes, has left a resident of Bengaluru in awe by delivering a high-end laptop in just 13 minutes.

The service debuted in select Bengaluru neighbourhoods in August. Flipkart Minutes positions itself as a competitor to established quick commerce platforms, like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart.

The buzz began when Sunny Gupta shared his experience on social media, sparking widespread attention. On August 22, Gupta tweeted, ‘Just ordered a laptop from Flipkart Minutes. 7 minutes delivery.’ He added, ‘Immediately after order, the tracking page showed ‘slightly delayed’ and updated the time to 12 minutes.’ Ultimately, it took exactly 13 minutes from payment success to receiving the Acer Predator laptop at a Starbucks location.

Gupta had been researching about laptops for months, he said in his now-viral thread that the option to get the device in 15 minutes was too tempting to pass up.

His post has since garnered over two million views and five thousand likes, with many X users expressing mixed reactions. Some praised the growth and competitiveness of Indian e-commerce, while others questioned the necessity of such a service for high-value item like laptops.

One user commented, ‘This is my new India. A service like this can only be dreamed in other Western countries.’ Another wrote, ‘I don’t think I’ll ever understand why someone would need a however minute delivery of a laptop, and more importantly, why would someone attempt to provide that service.’

With such quick delivery options, Flipkart Minutes could potentially challenge Amazon, a third user said.
