Viral Video: “Dhoom Machale” played on bagpipes as King Charles welcomed at event in UK

In a pleasant surprise for desis everywhere, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were welcomed at the Commonwealth Day ceremony in Westminster Abbey with a unique rendition of “Dhoom Machale” from the 2004 Bollywood hit “Dhoom”.

Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, an Indian band based in London played the song as the monarch entered the venue. The performance was a unique blend of classic Bollywood and Scottish bagpipes.

A video of their rendition has gone viral, with netizens reacting in shock and disbelief. Many claimed that the video was fake until BBC themselves confirmed that it was, indeed, real, through their official coverage of the ceremony.

Founded in the 1950s, the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band has had the honor of performing for royalty on several occasions. With branches in the UK, India, the US, and Kenya, the band is known for merging Scottish musical traditions with aspects of Hindu culture.

Many commenters joked that Queen Camilla was actually Hritik Roshan in disguise, referring to a plotline in “Dhoom 2” where the actor disguised himself as Queen Elizabeth II.

The video has captured the hearts of many Indians, with many of them reacting with pride and disbelief.
