What happened?

ETV Bharat quoting police sources said, Sameer, a resident of Bilari district, spotted his wife, Gulbano, sitting next to another man, identified as Mahir, in a Hyundai Aura on Wednesday evening. Attempting to confront them, Sameer stood in front of the vehicle. However, Mahir sped off, forcing Sameer to climb onto the car’s bonnet.

Despite Sameer clinging to the car, Mahir continued to drive at a high speed along the busy highway, dragging him for nearly five kilometres. Passers-by tried to intervene, but Mahir refused to stop. Eventually, the car was forced to halt due to traffic congestion, allowing bystanders to rescue Sameer and surround the vehicle.

Police action

Following the incident, a passer-by uploaded a video of the confrontation to social media, which gained significant attention.

Sameer and Gulbano had frequent disputes, leading her to live separately in Moradabad’s Karula area, reports ETV Bharat quoting police.

A complaint was filed by Sameer, and the driver, Mahir, was taken into custody. The car has also been seized, according to SP City Ranvijay Singh.

This incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with the video serving as a reminder of the lengths some go to in the heat of personal disputes.
