With the festive season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to give your house a well-deserved makeover. While the idea of re-doing your entire house may seem a little intimidating, following a few simple décor tips can help you get the desired result. Even if you are running on a low budget, you can make your home look like a million bucks amidst the festivities by simply being creative. Here is your guide to revamping your abode this festive season while staying on point in terms of trends:

Let the walls reflect your style

Get the festive vibe by breathing some life into the boring, plain walls. Don’t shy away from experimenting with the colour palette. If you are opting for bold shades like maroon or royal blue for one side, balance them out by choosing a lighter tone on the other wall. Metallic hues such as gold and silver are also in vogue this festive season. Lovers of minimalism can paint their walls in white or grey with unique textures or motifs. Alternatively, the option of affordable wallpapers and wall decals are also available. You can further up the glam quotient of your house by placing a chic mirror on the wall.

Reposition the furniture

Can’t afford new furniture? Don’t worry; rearranging your existing furniture pieces can give the impression of a bigger space as well as a revamped look. Shift your bed, push your wardrobe to the wall, huddle your sofas together to get as much free space as possible. Additionally, you can switch the paintings and wall hangings to bring a touch of freshness. In case, you are a tad confused, you can seek expert advice for space planning. Rented furniture can also be a solution for those who are on a low budget but looking for something new.

Add a green patch

Indoor plants are a hot favourite among interior designers. Easy on the pocket, even a single plant can enliven your living space. Thanks to its sword-shaped leaves, the snake plant can be a perfect and unique addition to your contemporary interior. Keep the snake plant next to the sofa in your living room for an elegant yet modern look. English ivy and peace lily can also be used to make your house more eco-friendly and beautiful. Instead of buying new pots or containers, opt for old brass utensils and trays to plant them.

Play with lights

Get over the old-school diyas and experiment with dim LED and fairy lights. Keep them in glass jars to get some applauds from your neighbours and guests. If you are looking for something a little fancier, wrap the fairly lights around bird cages and hang them from the ceiling of your balcony.

Focus on the ambience

While many neglect this part, the ambience of your house matters a lot. Don’t forget to spray room fresheners once every couple of hours when guests come over. Scented organic candles are also a great option. Place a water-filled tray with flower petals on the coffee table to add an edge to your interior decor.
