Two held for illegal mining in Solan



Shimla, February 19

Two persons were arrested for illegal sand mining in Solan district, the police said on Wednesday.

Gurdeep Singh of Mohali and Hardev Singh of Solan’s Kotla village were caught around 1 am, Baddi SP Rohit Malpani said. He said several vehicles used in mining were also seized. A dozer and a tipper were seized from Balad river banks near Suncity in Baddi, while several tractors were seized in the morning, he said. A case was registered. — PTI
