Chandigarh, February 11

The Chandigarh unit of the Aam Aadmi Party today carried out a victory procession in the city following the landslide victory of the party in the Delhi Assembly poll.

‘Credit goes to Kejri’

  • Mohali: Workers and volunteers of AAP, Mohali, also celebrated the victory of the party in Delhi. District president Harish Kaushal and other workers distributed sweets among them amid dhol beats. Kaushal said, “The credit for our win goes to Arvind Kejriwal as his focus has always been on the development of Delhi."

AAP workers gathered at the Sector 20 market from where the procession started and after crossing through various sectors, it culminated at the Sector 17 Plaza.

AAP Chandigarh president Prem Garg, while describing the unprecedented victory of AAP in Delhi as a watershed moment in Indian politics, said the poll results had proved that voters in Delhi had given a clear mandate for good governance. “Delhi voters have shown a ray of hope to the nation. For the first time, the vote was not on the consideration of caste, religion or unfounded propaganda about religious intolerance,” Garg said.

MC poll on AAP mind

The Delhi Assembly poll results have given a boost to the AAP leadership in Chandigarh. Party leaders said they were planning to contest the next MC elections in the city.
