Earlier in the case, Shivam Mishra, son of tobacco tycoon KK Mishra, was arrested in connection with the crash and later released on bail. His legal counsel maintained that the vehicle should be returned following the completion of formalities.

The luxury vehicle was seized after it was involved in a crash on February 8 in which it rammed into an auto-rickshaw, a motorcycle and later crashed into a pole, leaving six people injured on Kanpur’s VIP Road.
