Acharya Bhawna Nath Puri, an Aghodi Sadhak from Melbourne, has successfully promoted the significance of the holy dip in Sangam during the Maha Kumbh festival. As a brand ambassador, Puri encouraged many devotees, including foreigners and NRIs, to visit Prayagraj in UP.

David Jonas, Catherine, Sujoy, and Paul, natives of Melbourne, praised Puri for facilitating their pilgrimage to Prayagraj and the sacred Amrit Snan at Sangam on the occasion of Basant Panchami. Puri expressed her gratitude to the office bearers and activists of the local Brahman Sabha, led by Raju Sharma, for their cooperation in arranging comfortable stay and transportation for about 25 devotees from Australia.

Puri, who is likely the only woman practicing as a Karamkandi Brahmin, has been promoting and spreading the philosophy and teachings of Hinduism in Victoria, Australia. She has been successful in generating interest among devotees visiting Hindu temples in Australia to experience the Maha Kumbh festival first-hand.

The pilgrims accompanying Puri from Australia remained immersed in devotion, chanting ‘Bam Bam Bholey’ like traditional Indian devotees. Puri appreciated the grand confluence of cultures and devotion at Prayagraj, which proved that citizens from various foreign countries, including Australia, Nepal, Norway, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada, were deeply moved by India’s Sanatan culture and pious lifestyle.
