Uttar Pradesh: 2 killed as car overturns trying to avoid hitting stray bull
The occupants were returning from a wedding in Kunda when the driver lost control of the vehicle
Two people were killed and two others sustained injuries when their car overturned while trying to avoid a stray bull in the Baghray area here, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night near Chheunga village on the Lalgopalganj-Jethwara-Pratapgarh road, approximately 50 kilometres from the district headquarters.
Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Brijnandan Rai said that the occupants were returning from a wedding in Kunda when the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid hitting the bull.
The deceased have been identified as Raju Tiwari (45) and Sarvesh Kumar (38), a rozgar sevak (village employment assistant).
The injured include DK Saroj (32), a local village head (Pradhan), and Prabhakar Singh (38).
All four victims were initially rushed to the Baghray Community Health Centre, where Tiwari and Kumar were declared dead.
The two injured men were referred to SRN Hospital in Prayagraj in critical condition.
Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
