‘Will chop, pack you in drum Meerut-style’: UP woman threatens to kill husband in viral video
Amid the ongoing ‘blue drum’ memes flooding social media after the Meerut murder case, a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda has surfaced. A woman has allegedly threatened her husband, saying she would chop him into pieces and pack him in a drum, in an act similar to the recent Meerut case.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Complaints from both parties were received on Saturday and action will be taken following an investigation, police said on Sunday.
Junior Engineer (JE) Dharmendra Kushwaha, originally from Jhansi and currently employed with the Jal Nigam in Gonda, has accused his wife, Maya Maurya, and her alleged lover, Neeraj Maurya, of assault and threat to kill him.
Kushwaha said that he married Maya in 2016 and, after the birth of their daughter, purchased three four-wheelers and a land in her name. In 2022, he gave the contract of house construction to Neeraj, a relative of Maya, unaware that their relationship was deepening. Following the death of Neeraj’s wife during COVID-19, Maya allegedly grew closer to him.
When Kushwaha protested, he was allegedly beaten up, and Maya left the house. Later, on August 25, 2024, Maya and Neeraj reportedly returned, broke the lock, and absconded with 15 grams of gold and cash.
Kushwaha lodged a complaint in this regard on September 1, 2024.
On March 29, 2025, Maya allegedly threatened to kill Kushwaha’s mother. When he protested, she and Neeraj beat up both him and his mother.
According to Kushwaha’s complaint, “During this, Maya said that if you say too much, I will get you chopped and packed in a drum like the Meerut massacre.”
Meanwhile, Maya has denied the allegations, claiming that Kushwaha has been harassing her and had forced her to undergo four abortions.
She also alleged that he beat her in July 2024, after which she filed a report at the women’s police station. Subsequently, he filed for divorce and forced her out of their home.
Kotwali Police Station SHO Vivek Trivedi said that multiple legal cases between the couple are already ongoing in court.
“Police have started an investigation on the recent incident, and CCTV footage is being examined,” he added. - With inputs from PTI
