The Department of Health and Family Welfare is on a high alert after six persons from Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar tested positive for dengue.
According to the department, among the six are both adults and children.
Last year around 849 cases of dengue came to light, while four persons had lost their lives.
Director General, Health, Dr TC Pant said that several steps were being taken to tackle the disease.
“We are carrying out intensive source detection survey with the help of ASHA workers. Special isolation wards have been set up in the designated hospitals,” said Dr Pant.
Besides, the health department is also in touch with other departments for greater coordination.
“The departments have to work in tandem to ensure the fogging is undertaken and water is not allowed to stagnate after the heavy rainfall,” said Director General Pant.
