BJP accuses Cong of uploading ''doctored'' video on social media, tarnishing U''khand''s image

DEHRADUN: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand Monday accused the Congress of uploading a "doctored" video on social media to “sully” the state''s image.

Dehradun, October 15

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand Monday accused the Congress of uploading a "doctored" video on social media to “sully” the state's image.

The video went viral on social media recently in which Adani group chairman Gautam Adani was purportedly shown in conversation with Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, speaking negatively about the state of infrastructure projects in Uttarakhand.

"The video is doctored and uploaded with the intention of projecting a wrong picture of the state to discourage investors. The Congress cannot digest the huge success of the summit attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," state BJP media head Devendra Bhasin said.

Saying the video was part of a conspiracy hatched by the Congress to defame Uttarakhand and discourage investors from coming here, he said the plot stood exposed.

"The Congress had been conspiring all along to disrupt the state's first ever investors summit. The doctored video which seeks to misrepresent things about the state is part of that plot," he said in a statement.

"The fact that the video was first uploaded on former PCC chief's Facebook account and was tweeted upon by the AICC general secretary and former chief minister shows it was a handiwork of the Congress party," Bhasin said.

The BJP leader said the people will give a befitting reply to the Congress in the next Lok Sabha polls.

The state information department has also lodged an FIR against unidentified people in connection with the video under the IT Act and relevant section of the IPC. PTI
