Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said that use of latest technology would be very helpful for solving cyber crime cases. He inaugurated the newly constructed first cyber police station of the state in a function held here today.
He instructed them to work hard and act swiftly to maintain law and order in the state. CM Rawat released SDRF newsletter highlighting good work done by them in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttarakhand DGP BS Sidhu said that steps were taken to construct provide a cyber police station after receiving a requisition on January 21 this year. He instructed police officials to work swiftly to solve cyber crime cases.
The DGP said that three teams comprising trained police personnel were made to solve cyber crime cases.
It is worth mentioning that cyber police station will deal with online fraud, debit or credit cards fraud and other fraud cases which are done by using different modes of communication. The police station is equipped with latest software and hardware to extract data from communication devices.
State Home Minister Preetam Singh, Rajpur MLA Rajkumar, ADG Ashok Kumar, DIG AP Anshuman, IG Garhwal Sanjay Gunjiyal, SSP Dehradun Pushpak Jyoti and SSP (STF) Sadanand Datte were present.
