DEHRADUN:Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand Indira Hridayesh on Sunday said she or any Congress leader did not require a certificate from the BJP to prove itself that they were a Hindu.

Dehradun, July 22

Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand Indira Hridayesh on Sunday said she or any Congress leader did not require a certificate from the BJP to prove itself that they were a Hindu.

Addressing a public meeting in Bhimtal in Nainital district, Indira Hridayesh, a senior Congress MLA from Haldwani, alleged that Congress had always thought of development and never limited itself to caste or religion.

She reminded that it was during the Congress rule that two international cricket stadiums, one each at Haldwani and Dehradun, were constructed and that the incumbent BJP government in the state was not now even in a position to conduct international cricket matches in these stadiums.

Hridayesh also held that during Congress rule, Bhimtal had a large number industries but very few were left. She said the Congress had always believed in secular principles.— TNS
