The police have begun a probe into the  complaint filed by Rajni Rawat, wife of Chief Minister TS Rawat, against former BJP leader Subhash Sharma for allegedly raising questions on her qualifications and denting her reputation.

The former BJP leader,  in his social media posts,  had demanded investigations into the qualifications of Sunita Rawat, a teacher at a government primary school.

In her complaint, Rawat stated that Sharma had launched a false propaganda against her, which was damaging her reputation.

Dehradun SSP Nividita Kukreti said a case had been registered against Sharma under Sections 469 and 504  of the IPC  and also under relevant sections of the IT Act.

A headmistress of a junior school had a verbal altercation with the Chief Minister on the issue of transfer, sources said.

An RTI query at that time had revealed that Rajni Rawat had evaded transfers. Later, questions were also raised on her qualifications.
