Dehradun, December 7

Chief Minister TS Rawat today indicated that Gairsain will be declared summer capital of the state during the tenure of the BJP government.

“There were speculations, whether we will be able to hold the session in such cold conditions, but we did. Our commitment to declare Gairsain as the summer capital is also strong, but first we want to set up the infrastructure,” said Chief Minister TS Rawat while addressing mediapersons here. State BJP chief Ajay Bhatt also reiterated the party’s commitment. “We have mentioned this in our vision document and it will be fulfilled during our five-year tenure,” he said.

Further, the state government also held a Cabinet meeting yesterday at Gairsain, where the decision to set up a charitable trust to oversee the development of Kedarnath was given a nod. The Cabinet also approved the Nagar Nigam Bill in which the maximum number of wards in urban local bodies will be 70 and minimum 35.
