The Special Task Force (STF) seized around 450 kg of narcotics, including 188 kg heroin, from a house at Akash Vihar locality in Sultanwind village here on Thursday night.
The police nabbed four persons, including a woman and an Afghan national.
Though the police were tightlipped about the seizure, sources said the house belonged to an SAD leader. He, however, claimed that he had sold the property. The police are investigating his role in the drug nexus. They said it was too early to say about his involvement.
Sources said the police were also investigating the involvement of a cloth trader.
STF ADGP Harpreet Singh Sidhu will hold a press conference in the evening to share the details.
The seizure was reportedly made following the questioning of two drug peddlers from which the STF had seized 6 kg heroin.
During the raid, the police seized 188 kg of heroin, 38 kg of dextromethorthan, 26 kg of caffeine powder used for mixing with heroin and six drums containing 207 kg of a chemical composition. A sample of the chemical composition was sent for testing.
