Global momentum behind responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence governance gathered further pace as Bangladesh, Costa Rica and Guatemala formally joined the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact, taking the total number of endorsing countries and international organisations to 91.

The declaration was adopted at the AI Impact Summit 2026, held in New Delhi on 18-19 February 2026. The summit concluded with participating nations agreeing on a shared framework to promote ethical, inclusive, secure, and sustainable development of AI technologies worldwide, an official statement said here on Tuesday.

As of 21 February 2026, 88 countries and international organisations had initially endorsed the declaration. With the addition of more countries, the number of signatories has now risen to 91, reflecting a broad-based global consensus on leveraging AI for economic growth and social good.

Guided by the principle of “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya” (Welfare for all, Happiness for all), the New Delhi Declaration underscores that the benefits of AI must be equitably shared across humanity.
