Human Rights Council of Pakistan holds protest in Karachi, demands justice for Azial, Mir Reza and Muhammad Wali

Karachi [Pakistan] August 19 (ANI): The Human Rights Council of Pakistan held a peaceful protest outside the Karachi Press Club on August 16, demanding justice for Azial, Mir Reza and Muhammad Wali, according to a post shared by the organisation on X.

The protest was organised under the leadership of Jamshaid Hussain, Chairman of the Human Rights Council of Pakistan. According to the council's post, Hussain said the organisation would continue its struggle to raise its voice against injustice and work towards the protection of fundamental human rights.

Addressing the protesters, Hussain demanded that the relevant authorities conduct fair, transparent and impartial investigations into the cases concerning Azial, Mir Reza and Muhammad Wali.

He stressed that there should be no discrimination in the delivery of justice and that the rights of the victims and their families must be fully protected, according to the council's post.

Other speakers who addressed the protest included Advocate Aamir Nawaz Waraich, President of the Karachi Bar Association, Advocate Kamran Siddiqui, Asma Sajid, Javeria Nayer, Bashir Daras and Dr Mahboob Noonari.

According to the Human Rights Council of Pakistan, the speakers expressed solidarity with the affected families and called on the relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to ensure justice in the cases.

The council reiterated that access to justice is a fundamental right of every human being and urged authorities to resolve the matters on an emergency basis, the post said.

The Human Rights Council of Pakistan also called on civil society, legal experts, human rights organisations and the media to continue highlighting cases of alleged injustice and standing with victims and their families.

The council, according to its post, reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing a peaceful and constitutional struggle for justice, accountability, equality and the protection of human rights. (ANI)
