Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Friday said the proposed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was on the verge of being finalised and urged the media to avoid speculation about its contents until the process is completed.

In a post on X, Araghchi said the agreement had "never been closer", signalling progress in efforts to conclude the understanding.

“The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has never been closer. Pending its finalisation, the media should refrain from entering speculation about its content,” the Iranian Foreign Minister said.

Emphasising Tehran's commitment to transparency, Araghchi said the details of the agreement would be disclosed at an appropriate time.

“In line with our responsible and transparent approach, all details will be shared with the public in due course,” he added.

Araghchi's remarks came just minutes after Trump accused Iran of leaking terms that differed from those agreed between the two countries.

“The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing. What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth. Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. AMAZING!," Trump wrote on Truth social.

Meanwhile, Araghchi's latest comments suggest that negotiations have entered their final stages, although he made clear that the process has yet to be completed and cautioned against premature conclusions.

The statement marks one of the strongest indications so far that the long-discussed Islamabad MoU could soon be formally concluded.
