Man arrested with pistol at ISBT-17

CHANDIGARH: The police arrested a person from outside the ISBT-17 along with a country made pistol and live cartridges.

Chandigarh, December 23

The police arrested a person from outside the ISBT-17 along with a country made pistol and live cartridges.

The police said Kalu Ram, a resident of Rohatpur Varry of Bulandshehar district in UP, was arrested from the entry gate of the ISBT. “A .12 bore country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from him,” the policemen said.

A case under the Arms Act had been registered against the accused at the Sector 17 police station.

Bag stolen

A Ludhiana resident has complained to the police that someone stole a bag from his parked car in Sector 17-E. The police said Vikas Kainth reported that the bag containing one laptop, sunglasses and headphones was stolen from his car.

Theft at Hallo Majra

Archana of Halo Majra reported that someone had stolen gold and silver ornaments and Rs 5,000 from her residence between December 21 and 22. A case has been registered at the Sector 31 police station.
