Amritsar, December 24

The Amritsar rural police have booked two persons for allegedly raping a minor. Though the incident occurred around a year ago, the girl lodged a complaint with the police only a week ago while a case was registered last evening.

The 14-year-old victim stated to the Lopoke police that she was living at her elder sister Parmeshwar Kaur's home at Vaniyeke village. She alleged that around one year ago, Gora, a village resident and Gujjar Singh, the father-in-law of her sister, raped her. She alleged that the accused threatened to kill her if she told anything about this to her sister or anyone else.

The police have registered a case under Section 376 and 506, IPC, against the two while no arrest has been made so far.

Police authorities said investigations were under progress and a medical examination of the girl was conducted. They said raids were being conducted to arrest the culprits.
