Meritorious children of police personnel honoured

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Police today organised an award function at the Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines, in Sector 26 for the wards of police personnel who secured 85pc and above marks in their academics in Class VI to XII and 75pc and above marks for those pursuing technical education such as engineering during the academic session 2013-14.

Chandigarh, December 24

The Chandigarh Police today organised an award function at the Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines, in Sector 26 for the wards of police personnel who secured 85pc and above marks in their academics in Class VI to XII and 75pc and above marks for those pursuing technical education such as engineering during the academic session 2013-14.

A total of 276 students were awarded with scholarships. Around Rs 20 lakh and a laptop were distributed among students from the Grant of Aid of the Chandigarh Police. A function in the honour of retired police officials was also held. RP Upadhyay, IGP, honoured the retiring policemen with mementos and certificates were given to officers retired between March 2014 to November. Thirtythree officials retired during the period.
