Trains, flights delayed due to fog

AMRITSAR: With dense fog enveloping the region since morning, a number of flights and trains have been delayed, causing inconvenience to the commuters.

With dense fog enveloping the region since morning, a number of flights and trains have been delayed, causing inconvenience to the commuters.

The Howrah Mail was cancelled while the departure of the Howrah Express was delayed by about six and a half hours. It was to depart at its scheduled time of 6.10 pm.

The popular Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi arrived at 4.30 pm against its scheduled arrival time of 1.25 pm. Similarly, its return journey was also delayed by over an hour.

The Shan-E-Punjab reached here 4.45 hours behind its scheduled time of 2.15 pm. Consequently, its return journey was also delayed. Against its scheduled departure time of 3.10 pm, it is expected to chug out at 8 pm.

The departure of the Chhattisgarh Express and the Sachkhand was also delayed by hours.

With the cold wave tightening its grip in north India, the schedule of a number of flights was also upset, causing inconvenience to the commuters.

The Ashgabat-Turkmenistan flight of Turkmenistan Airlines landed here two hours behind its scheduled time. The morning Delhi-Amritsar flight of Jet Airways landed 2.20 hours late. Jet’s Delhi-Amritsar flight also landed 40 minutes late in the afternoon.
