Sensitise students to traffic rules: Mohali SDM

Stress was laid on creating awareness about traffic rules among children during a meeting of school heads held here today.

SDM Lakhmir Singh, who chaired the meeting, emphasised that the Safe School Vahan scheme should be implemented in accordance with the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

He said it was the primary duty of school heads to give directions to their teachers to devote 10 minutes of the first period to create awareness about traffic rules, social evils and drug abuse.

Mewa Singh Sindhu, DEO (Secondary), said action would be taken against schools that fail to implement the Safe School Vahan scheme.
