Panchkula court cites no eyewitness, no reliable last-seen evidence, no CCTV link and no DNA or fingerprint examination while acquitting accused
The Punjab and Haryana High Court doubted the CBI's probe into Ram Rahim's involvement in the Ram Chander Chhatrapati murder. Kuldeep, Krishna, and Vishal were acquitted of snatching charges. They were arrested on September 15, 2023, following Rampal Sharma's complaint about a robbery on September 10, 2023. The court acquitted the accused because Sharma couldn't identify them, and no independent witnesses or evidence linked them to the crime.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court ruled that acquittal based on reasonable doubt does not automatically reinstate a temporary employee. The court emphasized the employer's discretion and warned against inconsistent re-employment practices, stating reinstatement isn't guaranteed and a commissioner will face consequences for reinstating acquitted employees on technical grounds.
