The Punjab and Haryana High Court ruled that teachers in government-aided, non-government colleges affiliated with Panjab University are governed by Punjab Civil Services Rules (CSR) for earned leave. They are entitled to encash up to 300 days of leave. The court ordered DAV College to pay a retired professor for 247 days of leave, not the previously granted 180.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court ruled that teachers in non-government colleges affiliated with Panjab University are governed by Punjab Civil Services Rules for earned leave. They are entitled to encash a maximum of 300 days of leave. The court ordered DAV College to pay a retired professor leave encashment for 247 days instead of the initially granted 180.
Khalsa College for Women (KCW), Ludhiana, placed second in the Panjab University Inter-College Tae kwon do Tournament. DAV College, Chandigarh, won the women's division, while DAV College, Chandigarh, also took first in the men's category.
Floral tributes commemorated Second Lt Rajiv Sandhu, Mahavir Chakra, martyred in Sri Lanka during Operation Pawan. The ceremony, held in Chandigarh, included tributes from MP Manish Tewari, army veterans, and local officials. Sandhu was an alumnus of Chandigarh institutions.
