Hajipur police found the body of Gurnam Singh at the Mukerian Hydel Project power house gates. Gurnam, a Ghagwal village resident, had been missing since December 14th and suffered from mental distress. His father identified the body, which was badly decomposed after being in a canal for 10 days. The police gave the body to the family.
A car carrying a photographer and colleagues caught fire on the Talwara–Hajipur road, but all occupants escaped unharmed. The car, including expensive equipment, was destroyed. The fire occurred near Nikuchakk Mod and was likely averted a major casualty due to quick actions of the driver and passengers.
