Two food inspectors suspended

KARNAL: SS Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Food and Supplies Department, today suspended two inspectors of the department for irregularities in storing foodgrain.

SS Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Food and Supplies Department, today suspended two inspectors of the department for irregularities in storing foodgrain.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) J Ganesan said the ACS had suspended Joginder, in charge of distribution in Nilokehri, and Rajinder, in charge of distribution in Jundla.

Prasad inspected several godowns during his surprise visit to the city to check the storage and distribution of foodgrain. Besides, Prasad inspected registers of godowns and found the record of the distribution fabricated. He asked officials about the negligence on the part of the staff.

The DC said the registers were completed without physical inspections or verifications.
