Two booked in separate cases for demanding dowry

BATHINDA: The women’s police station has registered a dowry case against a resident of Deon village.

The women’s police station has registered a dowry case against a resident of Deon village. Ramandeep Kaur, a resident of Kaljhrani village, stated in a complaint to the police that her husband Jagsir Singh, also a resident of Deon village, used to harass her for dowry.

The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 498A and 406 of the Indian Penal Code.

Another dowry case was registered against a resident of Mansa district. Amandeep Kaur, a resident of the Chak Fateh Singh Wala village, alleged that her husband Sukhchian Sharma, a resident of Nangal Kalan village in Mansa district, demanded dowry from her.

The police have registered a case against the accused under sections 406, 498 A. No arrest has been made in the cases yet.

Both the cases have been registered on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police after consulting the deputy district attorney (legal).
