Martial arts tourney champs felicitated

Players, who won the National Martial Arts Championship, were felicitated by Rajeev Jain, media coordinator of Chief Minister Harish Singh Rawat, at a programme here today.

Players, who won the National Martial Arts Championship, were felicitated by Rajeev Jain, media coordinator of Chief Minister Harish Singh Rawat, at a programme here today.

The National Martial Arts Championship was held at Kurukshetra in Haryana in which Uttarakhand beat Uttar Pradesh in the final match.

The gold medalist players of Uttarakhand were Madhur Kothari (Army School), Mohammad Arman (Army School), Shikhar Kothari (Saint Mary School), Jyotsna Nautiyal (St. Mary School), Kamal Kumar (Martial Arts Training Centre), Rahul Kumar (Martial Arts Training Centre), Ankur Mishra (Martial Arts Training Centre), Shadat (Martial Arts Training Centre), Asha Nautiyal (Martial Arts Training Centre), Sunil Kumar (Martial Arts Training Centre), Gajendra Kumar (Martial Arts Training Centre), Mohammad Danish (Martial Arts Training Centre), Sonia Khan (Martial Arts Training Centre) and Veena Pathaniya (Martial Arts Training Centre).

Saudagar Salim Khan, president, Lion’s Force Brigade World Martial Arts Federation, said martial arts was an art for self defense, especially for girls.

Hari Prasad Bhatt, Shakti Bhatt, Pandit Dayaram, Mohammad Anwar, Dr Vikram Nautiyal and Bilkish Jahan were present during the programme.

 

All eyes on India-Pakistan tae kwon do match

People are excited about the India-Pakistan tae kwon do match to be held during th upcoming 4th International Tae kwon do Championship to be held at Pestle Weed College here from December 20.

Javed Khan, organising secretary of the championship, said the players were training hard and all teams would arrive by December 18.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat would inaugurate the championship and all preparations had been made for the event, Javed added.
