Advisory group set up for policy planning

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Harish Rawat has set up a 21-member advisory group for policy planning.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat has set up a 21-member advisory group for policy planning.

Chief Secretary N Ravishankar said the group would make a strategy for the long-term planning and review and evaluate the ongoing schemes.

Headed by Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Indira Hridyesh, state chief secretaries Madhukar Gupta and RS Tolia, former Kumaon University Vice-Chancellor Dr BS Joshi, former Vice-Chancellor of GB Pant University Dr BS Bisht, noted economist TS Papola will be its members.

The other members of the group are former Director of the Rural Development Institute BP Maithani, IIT Roorkie’s former Director Dr Harsh Singhal, former Vice-Chancellor of HNB Garhwal University AN Purohit, former MP Paripurnand Painuily, former MP Pradeep Tamta, former minister Lt Gen TPS Rawat (retd), environmentalist Chandi Prasad Bhatt, Garhwali folk singer Narendra Singh Negi, former MLAs Puran Singh Mahra, Kashi Singh Airy and Kazi Nijammuddin, Horticulture expert DP Uniyal and former advocate general Meharban Singh Negi will be the members of the advisory group.

Former Chief Secretary-cum-Advisor to the Chief Secretary Indu Kumar Pandey will be the convenor of the group.
