It also propagated the growing of such high-yielding varieties in hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. For the first time, a Coconut Promotion Scheme was announced keeping in mind India's leadership in the global market. The Union Budget 2026-27 also emphasized on automation of agriculture with the introduction of Bharat-VISTAAR, a multilingual AI tool, which aims to integrate AgriStack portals with ICAR package. The allocation of a whopping Rs 1.51 lakh crore for VB-G RAM G scheme was another major announcement in the Budget. The fisheries sector also got major attention in the Budget with credit-linked subsidy interventions, creation of livestock farmer producer organizations and 500 reservoirs, among others.
