Pushpesh Pant recounts Delhi’s fascinating food history in ‘From the King’s Table to Street Food’ Dr Pushpesh Pant shares with Seema Sachdeva of The Tribune his motivation for writing the book, which combines personal memoir, history and food. Blending his journey of moving from Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand, as a young student to becoming a Delhiwala, the book uses broad strokes to sketch the changing foodscape of the national capital.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now
in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is
run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
