Chandigarh, April 20

The BJP today warned Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann against allegedly allowing AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to “misuse the Punjab Police” to settle a score with his political rivals and opponents.

“This is an outrageous act of political vendetta by Kejriwal to misuse the police force of Punjab to fix his political opponents like Kumar Vishwas, Alka Lamba and others,” Punjab BJP general secretary Subhash Sharma said here.

The BJP general secretary warned against such a precedent, asking the AAP supremo what if other political parties also started misusing their police and targeting people in other states.

The BJP leader said this was a shameful day for democracy in Punjab that the Chief Minister of some other state was using the Punjab Police against his political opponents. He asked the Punjab Police to be loyal to the oath and uniform they were wearing instead of taking dictations from someone who had no locus standi in Punjab.
