NAAC satisfied with
functioning of colleges
Sonepat, February 26
The National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded B plus grade to the
Government College at Gohana town on the basis of the inspection by
the peer team of the council last month. Mr Desh Deepak, principal of
the college, told mediapersons at Gohana town, 35 km from here
yesterday, that the officials of the peer team were satisfied with the
functioning of the college after an inspection of the college,
including meeting the lecturers, students and their parents.
Painting
competition held on eve of
World Bamboo Congress

As a prelude to the prestigious
7th World Bamboo Congress in New Delhi from February 27 to March 4,
2004, a painting competition was organized today at Dilli Haat in an
effort to enhance awareness and garner public participation for the
mega event.

The Horticulture Department of
the New Delhi Municipal Council bagged 62 prizes in the 17th Garden
Tourism Festival organised by the Delhi Tourism and Transport
Development Corporation (DTTDC) and in the flower show, organized by
YWCA.
Accident
victim succumbs to injuries
Sonepat, February 26
A youth Rajesh Kumar was
seriously injured when he was hit by an unknown vehicle on G T Road
near Asawarpur village about 15 km from here last evening. According
to a report, he later succumbed to his injuries for want of medical
aid. The driver of the vehicle, however, managed to escape.

suicide by hanging herself in Ladrawan village of the district on
Wednesday. The deceased, Rekha, was married to one Azad Singh three
