Illegal colonies: Centre seeks HC nod on norms

The Central Government has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking its approval of revised guidelines for regularising unauthorised colonies in the national Capital, which, among other things, extends the ‘cut-off’ date for such colonies from March 31, 1993 to March 31, 2002.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded B plus grade to the Government College at Gohana town on the basis of the inspection by the peer team of the council last month. Mr Desh Deepak, principal of the college, told mediapersons at Gohana town, 35 km from here yesterday, that the officials of the peer team were satisfied with the functioning of the college after an inspection of the college, including meeting the lecturers, students and their parents.

Accident victim succumbs to injuries

A youth Rajesh Kumar was seriously injured when he was hit by an unknown vehicle on G T Road near Asawarpur village about 15 km from here last evening. According to a report, he later succumbed to his injuries for want of medical aid. The driver of the vehicle, however, managed to escape.
